A state appears only after we verify the motor-vehicle agency source and write down the actual post-payoff handoff. The remaining states stay in the research queue until the source is clear enough to publish.

Title system
Arizona uses Electronic Lien and Title (ELT) for vehicle-loan liens handled by participating lienholders. MVD says no paper title is printed while the lien exists.
After payoff
After the final payment is credited, the lienholder sends Arizona MVD an electronic release. Arizona's payoff FAQ says the title remains electronic after payoff unless the owner needs a paper title.
Lien release
The lender's electronic message removes the financial lien from the MVD record. Arizona MVD then notifies the owner.
What you do
Confirm the lender has sent the release. If you need a paper title for an out-of-state move or another reason, Arizona says you can use the Title Replacement service through AZ MVD Now.
Timing note
Arizona's published consumer guidance does not give a universal number of days for the electronic release. Because the title can remain electronic, there may be no automatic paper-title mailing to wait for.
Florida supports electronic liens and electronic titles. A title may remain electronic even after the lien is satisfied unless a printed title is requested.
After payoff
Florida's lien-satisfaction procedure says the lienholder must forward a properly completed lien satisfaction to the department within 10 days after satisfaction for motor vehicles.
Lien release
If an electronic lien is satisfied and the lienholder does not request a printed title, the title can remain electronic until the registered owner asks to have it printed.
What you do
Verify that FLHSMV's motor-vehicle record shows the lien as satisfied. If you need a paper title for a sale or your records, request printing through the applicable FLHSMV/tax-collector process.
Timing note
The department procedure specifies a 10-day lien-satisfaction submission period for motor vehicles; title-printing timing depends on the method used.
