Oregon: from final payment to clear title.

6 guides, each starting at a different point where the Oregon payoff-to-title handoff can stall.

DMV SNAPSHOT
Title system
Oregon records lenders as security interest holders and generally requires an owner title transaction with original lien releases to remove them.
After payoff
After payoff, submit the required title/replacement application materials and original release evidence; a paper title does not automatically appear just because the loan reached zero.
Lien release
Oregon accepts properly executed releases on the title, Form 735-524, or equivalent bank documents meeting DMV requirements; the transaction page calls for original lien releases.
Owner action
Keep copies, send originals through the DMV process, and use the replacement-title option if the Oregon title itself is lost.
Timing
Current DMV estimates list about 2–3 weeks for Oregon/out-of-state titles and about one week for replacement titles; these are processing estimates, not lender deadlines.
